Busy AGAIN!!!!

Even though I don't work out of the home except for the occasional mural and the occasional substituting....I'm busier than a cat trying to cover up a turd on a marble floor. Bwahahahahahaha!!!

This is a card I made for my work on the DT of STAMP N PLUS SCRAP N. March is a black and white (no color) challenge. I love black and white, but I was fighting the urge to add color, any color, but rulez iz rulez!!!! Gotta love the Iris folding techy!!!

Note from the home front: I have recently purchased an early birthday pressie for myself. Yep, I couldn't resist the temptation any longer. I bought a Cricut Expression and lots of accessories to go along with it. 7 extra cartridges, two jukeboxes, and the design studio. I can't wait till it all gets here. Whooo hoooo!!!!!

Tater House in Roopville

This is the first painting I did for my hubby. He wanted me to paint this mural of a local building that is somewhat a historical site here in Roopville, GA. It's a few miles down the road from our house. I took the pic and had it framed for him too. It's hanging directly over the mural vignette. I took a little artistic license as he wanted me to paint our dog in the picture somewhere, so I put him on the front porch. I also added a few daisies around, after all they are my favorite flowers!!!

Murals galore..........

These are the two lastest ones that fell out of my paintbrush. I LOVE doing cartoons because you can't help but be happy when you look at them. Thursday I start another cartoon mural at the Jump for Joey in Hiram. So much fun and I'm making money.....bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

This one is located in the hallway where everyone gets their pictures taken with there adopted pet.

Erin Go Bragh!!!!!!!

A little early, but better than being late!!! That is one of my biggest pet peeves, being late!!! I would rather not show up at all than to be late for anything. I'm usually the first one to any event. My mother was 1/2 irish from her mother's side. I remember my grandmother, her maiden name was Lena Rivers Gunn, we called her "Mama Lena". Yes, her middle name was actually Rivers. She was this tall, lanky red head with a fiery temper to match. She is where I get my crafting ability from. She was always making something from nothing.

Not really.....bwahahahahahahahahahahaha...... but the song was so appropriate today here in Georgia. It came a thunder boomer last night, now it's just rainy. Short and sweet today on here. I have to get ready to go finish a mural and start on another one......check out my mural blog to see some of my work. Will add a lot more pics later.

This first pic is a painting I did to go in our bedroom. Look closely at the curtain blowing thru the window. I painted it to match the curtains I sewed for the room. The flowers are paper punches and the leaves are from a sizzix die. I found the frame at Goodwill and painted it


The card for today was made Friday night at Cabin Croppers scrap night. Again, you've heard me say how much I LOVE the embossing folders. The stamp is from SU! Super quick, but oh so pretty. It worked perfectly in my flowers that my sweety got me for Valentine's Day.

Wrting is exhausting....

Nothing to post today except a few words of wisdom..... Always have tissues handy when writing a book about a family member. I've cried and I've laughed so hard I've cried....and it's mentally exhausting. But it will be worth it in the end.

Kinda tired today......was out until 3 AM scrapping with the Cabin Croppers.....great bunch of ladies. Still haven't gotten all my supplies out of the car.

On another tangent........I am so elated that I will finally get myself a Cricut Expression. It will have to wait until we get our taxes back, but they should be here mid March......Yippee!!!!

A rose by any other name.....

is still a ROSE!!! A quickie post, gotta get things together to start a new mural today. I'm in LOVE with the cuttlebug embossing folders. They work so well with my "old school" red sizzix. The one I used today is called "script" and then I took my sanding block and sanded it very lightly, super gor-juss!!!! The rose bud punch is new also. I love how you can make it more dimentional.

Catzzzzzz.....

I finally took pictures of the Bonding Room @ the animal shelter where I painted the cats.... Remember a few weeks back I painted dogs in the first one. Here are the catzzzzzz.......please excuse the mess they made with the yarn.......Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Currently I'm working on an aquarium scene in the cat room, tropical fish, sea turtle, seaweed, shark.......LOL Yep, I said shark... I asked him before adding it and he has a sense of humor and said "ain't it just a dolphin with teeth ?"

The director wants me to paint two more murals too. One in the lobby and the next one in the hallway leading to all the rooms. These will cartoon type painting, almost like what we do on our cards......bwahahahahahahaha!!!! I should be able to rock these next ones out pretty quickly.

TCB.......taking care of business...........

I've been doing a lot of TCB lately. I wanted to get to see if I could cut down on some of our living expenses. Like satellite tv, car insurance, etc......Well, so far I've cut them by $300.....woohooo!!! I'm sure there are other cuts I can make, and we aren't doing without anything that we had previously. Also, got our taxes done jointly since we are now married and we are getting a GREAT refund this year. I think Jeff is still not believing it....maybe when he sees the actual money hit the bank he will......

Now to the card....... This image is from Stamp N Plus Scrap N. Hard to actually see the image after I colored it using the paint, chalks and glitter from SNPSN; but it's a cute pair of panties. The sentiment on the inside says ...and take care of BUSINESS!!!

Check out the haul I got from Hobby Lobby. I got 137 sheets of discountinued paper for 6 cents a sheet, a total of $8.22...........another wooooohooooo!!!! Who cares that it's discontinued, I'm sure when people look at my cards or scrapbooking pages they will never know the difference.

Jeff would say you're saving money inorder to just spend it on craft stuff...... My response would be "problem?" Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

Some days you're the dog.....

other days you're the hydrant!!! I know that being the hydrant doesn't apply to any of my crafting friends....!!! We have way to much stuff to keep us happy....well, maybe I'm speaking for myself.

These two images are from Stamp N plus Scrap N....I'm on the DT and they have some amazing stuff. This month's challenge was to use the chalks anywhere on the card. I made the sky using my cloud template and rubbing the chalk on the paper using a makeup sponge......super duper easy.....and you get such a WOW effect!!! The hydrant is created using an iris folding stamp. You stamp the image and place the paper pieces according to a numerical chart within the stamp itself.......cool huh???? What cute dimples.....

Ooooppppsss.... I mean pimples......Bwahahahahahahahahaha. I just had to create a scrapbook page on this one. Harlee came to me one day and asked what was wrong with her face and I just kinda snickered....and said " You've got pimples" She started running thru the house screaming..... a little overly dramatic for just a couple of pimples....but thats Harlee and really any other 10 yrs old girl. I told her she would have to start washing her face more and they would go away or it would make them less noticeable. She has now starting doing that and they have GONE away.

Pimples aside. L@@K at those eyes would ya..... she's gonna rip the hearts out of oodles of little boys, I just know it.....LOL Yes, that is the real color of her eyes. When she was a little toddler and could still ride in the buggy, people would stop us just to look at her eyes. They change color, but only a different shade of green. Sometimes they are almost a yellow color. It all depends on what she's wearing.

Happy {HEART} Day!!!!

Below you will see a scrapbook page of me and my sweet valentine on our wedding day. We went to the court house. In the spring we are planning a big bash to celebrate. I love him more and more everyday. We missed out on having our 'date', but we are planning on going to the movies later today to see "The Wolfman", super crazy happy about that!!!! I LOVE me some scary movies!!!!

He surprised me with a bouquet of flowers....... Jeff knows that daisies melt my heart.... That's one of the reasons I named my blog Rustic Daisy....... I could receive a whole room of roses and they wouldn't mean nearly as much to me as one single daisy. He also brought Harlee a single red rose, ain't he the 'bomb diddy'. Since me couldn't go out on our date because of the snow yesterday, he cooked steaks on the grill for us all. Yep, I said grill.....Neither Snow Nor Rain, Nor Heat, Nor Gloom Of Night could stop him on his destiny with the grill. YEP, I took pics...that's my next scrapbook page...... bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Snow again!!!!

Yep, we officially have snow in all 50 states. WOW.....unbelievable..!!!

This was the antics at our our yesterday. Harlee had a friend (they're such goobers)over and we made snowcream and I had a gingerbread kit left over from christmas, so they made a velentine's house.....LOL.... And of course they played in the snow. Hopefully tomorrow I can get into my studio to do some actual work....I'm feeling the itch, but maybe thats from the cabin fever creeping up on me already....bwahahahahahaha!!

Jeff asked me out on a date for Valentine's, but I don't think we will get to go because of the weather. He, or I should say, we have been trying to plan a romantic dinner and movie for months and something always comes up. The dating gods have not been nice to us. But like a good girl scout (which I never was one) I'm prepared.....I have T-bones in the freezer and all the fixin's in the cabinet for a very nice steak dinner. I'm sure he will grill them out in the snow......can't wait to take pics of that one....LOL

Books, books and more books...

As most of you know I'm currently writing a book about the crazy adventures of my Mama. It's a arduous task to say the least. One minute I'm crying the next minute I'm laughing and thoroughly exhausted after a few paragraphs. But I'm determined that it will be finished and published one day. Recently I posted about my friend Linda George that wrote a book about her life as an in-home care nurse. Now, I'm posting about a book that my hubby's dad is in. A small, very small exerpt about him and his courage while under fire during the vietnam war. Below you will see the book jacket and the exerpt and a pic of him overseas.... not sure where the pic was taken or which one is actually Chelsie Rood. But it is him. Jeff is so proud and so am I, even if I never got to meet the man. If Jeff is anything like his dad then I know his dad was a great man too!!!!

Hubby is home from a 6 weeks stint out in Sunny California.....LOL So, guess what I'll be doing...yep, you guessed it....I'll be trying to find my inner Goldilocks and snuggling up to my Sugarbear!!!

I saw this card on another blog called Stamps, paper scissors..... it looked so fun I had to try it out. It's called a hidden message card. It has the WOW factor for the recipient.....

Here is the WOW factor!!!!!!!!!!!! The little window opens up to a small stamped image, isn't that cool!!!!
It was fairly simple to put together....a little time consuming, but worth it in the end.

Scrapbooking pages abound.....

Here are two of the pages that I worked on at the cabin..... the first one is Harlee at Halloween. She LOVES bugs and wanted to be a Killer Cockroach....bwahahahahahahaha. I took several of those fleece blankets and asked her to lay down and traced it around her.... sewed them together and painted the lines on the belly added some antennas and waaaallllaaaa a Killer Cockroach. The cockroaches on the page were made using the wide oval punch from SU!....

The next one is our Booboo. He is on anxiety meds, he's getting older and things are starting to bother him....:( storms, too many people in the house, etc...... To get him to take the meds I have to wrap them in a piece of cheese. Jeff made a joke that I've gotten Booboo "addisted to cheese"......bwhahahahahahahaha.... Booboo anxiously waits on his meds every morning at the kitchen counter......
