Make ya wanna slap ya Mama......

Fresh picked green beans, cornbread, potato salad, roasted corn on the cob, onion, and can't forget the glass of sweet tea!!!

Growing up we didn't have the traditional sandwich and chips. Especially after the garden started coming in. Mama would start our 'supper' right after breakfast. She said it was to keep the house cooler. Give the house time to cool off before the heat of the day set in. So our lunches looked a lot like this picture. Then for supper we would either warm up leftovers, or Daddy would come home after work and build a small bon fire and we would roast weiners and marshmallows and thats what we would eat. Yes, the green beans came out of our garden this year. Its our first batch and let me tell you, the whole time I was eating this meal I kept thinking back on all the fun carefree times we had as children and how good everything tasted fresh from the garden.
{Raising my iced tea glass} Here's to you Mama for showing me all the simple comforts of home.

Until later, gardeners everywhere......Gotta split......TFL!!!!!!

Chop chop chop

I know I've probably said this before...but I my Cricut Expression. It ought to be illegal to have this much FUN!!!! I this layout. Harlee and her friend Amber were eating homemade chinese pork fried rice that I fixed for supper that night and I remembered that I had chopsticks. It was so dangerous there for a while, I thought I was going to have to find hard hats too. But they had fun and the mess wasn't too bad to clean up. They finally gave up and decided to use spoons instead. The bowls, chopsticks, and kanji symbols are from the Pagoda cricut cart. It has some amazing stuff on it. The kanji symbols I chose (top one) means FUN and the (bottom one) mean laugh. 'Cause they sure did both of those..... The word chopsticks is from the Designer's Calendar cart and the other wording is from fonts on my computer using my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) program.
I told ya it should be ILLEGAL!!!!
