About Me

My photo
I would classify myself as an artist. It took me a while to finally accept that monicker, but that's what I am; AN ARTIST!!! I have a wonderful hubs that supports my "talents" in most all avenues, except maybe when the credit card bill comes in the mail...LOL And I have 4 great kids and 5 beautiful grandchildren that I love to pieces. Come on by and sit a spell and "STAMP 'TIL YA CRAMP!!! & "CROP 'TIL YA DROP!!!"

Friendship...

I want to dedicate this card to all the GREAT and FUNNY ladies, (friends, both old and new) that I had the pleasure of meeting and making cards with last night. I hope the sentiment on the card will foretell what the future will bring, "friendships that last forever"....

I want to thank Bonnie for hosting the workshop....hopefully we can all get together again soon.

Please if you have any questions and/or comments, don't hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy that you did!!!!

Simplicity....

Very simple card today... Was playing around with a few sketches for a workshop that I will be having this friday night. Wanted to show the versatility of the punches but make it simple to not discourage some first timers. Hope you like it!!!! Got lots of pkgs to put together, see ya tomorrow.

Heartbreaker....

This was made for a challenge on PCP. Let me explain my thought process....Before the broken heart could get mended, some of the 'love' fell out and turned into this beautiful flower to be given away to some deserving person....
Wow, pretty out there huh???? Yeah, I know!!! i have a HUGE imagination, but don't we all..... LOL
I just love playing with the scallop circle punch... thats how I made the small hearts. Hope you like the card and my 'little' story behind it.

Better early than late....

This card was inspired by the sketch on OCC. http://www.ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/ I was in my studio 'cleaning' up from last card making session, when I was sorting thru my stamps when..............yep I just couldn't resist stamping some more! I just love this set, and I remembered that I havent played with my MS glitter that I got on clearance after christmas...don't you just love the after holidays sales. The DSP was just begging me to use it for easter....the colors, the white spots that look like eggs. My other half will probably get to send this card to his Aunt Max for easter, I hope she likes it!
And I hope you like it too!!!

So Kind....

Jeff wanted me to make a card for his aunt.... so this is what I came up with. It was a quick put together card. I just love the "Priceless" stamp set from SU. I'm so glad it is still available in the new catty. It is so versatile, can be used for just about an occasion. Sorry....I have failed in my New years resolution to post a card every day, but I'm trying to do better.
Thanks to all that look at my blog and will see ya again tomorrow.

Springy cards.....

I saw this type of fold on Dawns blog (www.dawnsstampingthoughts.com) and just had to try one, well maybe two....bwahahahahaha.
I need to work on the first one, my cutting was off for some reason, oh well. I did better on the second one, but the image is too small for the card....
We are our own worst critic, they say......
I will have to try it again later.....
Have you checked out the new catalog???? If not, you better get a move on. You can start to order from it sometime after 2 pm today. The Stampin' Up! website is down to make the transition over to the catalog .....
So, if yo have any questions I will try my best to answer them for you....

New Stamper in da hooouse....

This first card is one that Harlee made for todays challenge on SCS....it turned out really cute. You had to base your card on Pottery Barn Teen Collection, so she chose polka dots, she punched out her dots using my 1" punch and glued them down as you see here and she had the "cute" sticker and it fit perfectly in the circle.... Great job !!!!!
{Sorry I was clapping for Harlee}
Ok, now the sheep card..... First let me tell you that I didn't get home this morning until 1 am, I went to a crop at my niece's house and we were having so much fun that we all didn't want to stop, hence the 1 am arrival home....LOL
Well, you know how us ladies are when we get together and we were showing different things that we had created or seen and wanted to try, so I was showing all the ladies the punches and decided to make the sheep that I had seen on Dawn's blog....well, one thing lead to another and we started adding the rear and I thought about the commercial of Serta mattresses, and this is what came about.... bwahahahahahahahaha
Hope you have had a giggle today....if not from this blog, maybe another blog, but keep on GIGGLING!!!

Painting...

...something I need to get back into. This is a mural that I painted on our living room wall. Its the "Tater House" in Roopville, GA on Hwy 27.... If you have ever driven down Hwy 27 you can't miss it. As soon as I drove by it the first time I knew that I wanted to paint a picture of it. I love old buildings like that, they have so much character. Jeff wanted me to add Booboo in the picture somehow, so there he is resting on the porch like he belongs there.
I will probably post again later, I have a few ideas for cards. The crop I went to yesterday was so much fun and a few ideas got bounced around the tables....
I'm excited to get started on a few.... so back later today with a card hopefully....

Scrappy day....

...I don't have a card to post today, 'cause I'm getting stuff together to go to my niece's house to crop. I usually drag half my stuff over there and barely scrape the surface to complete my page(s). I'm sure all you fellow scrappers have experienced that a time or two.
Today I wanted to share with you a page that I created right around Christmas... don't panic..... Harlee is perfectly fine, here's the story:

She went to a sleepover party in November and they arranged for the parents to pick up the guests at the school the following day, and while waiting for parents to arrive the girls were playing on the playground. This playground uses the bark for ground cover, now you see where I'm going....

She got some bark in her eye and she rubbed it before telling anyone and she scratched her eye.

Her daddy told her to rest her eyes and this was her way of doing just that, she patched it herself. You can tell by the expression on her face that she is not a happy camper about me taking pictures, but I couldn't help it. It was just too cute and too ingenious on her part to patch her eye.....well any case...she longer wears a patch and her eye is as good as new....

I mean really, look at those eyes, I would never want anything to happen to those. People stop us while we are out and about just to look at her eyes (they are a very strange color).
If you are still reading, bless your heart and I hope you have a great day!!!

I thought it was fun and bright....and the challenge for today on SCS is a card sketch and it had the two stars placed on it as you see it on my card. Supplies:
Stamps: A Little Somethin', Priceless
Card stock: Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie

Suhweet....

....that is the only way I can describe this card... it just looks simply sweet to me. I'm typing this as I'm chewing on part of my display (the red one to be exact). That is one of my many vices...I love chewing gum. I bet you can guess what my other vices may be....bwahahahahaha !!!
I don't know the name of the techniques that I used... I stamped the images on velum and punched them out using my 5 petal punch, then I laid the punches upside on my foam pad and used my stylus to outline the petal, as you can see I wasn't trying to follow the lines exactly. I wanted the lines to show up when I flipped them right side up.
I even did some sewing on this one.....
supplies:
white cardstock
daisyd's dsp
velum
blue satin ribbon
Burst into Bloom stamp set
So Very stamp set
Inks - Riding Hood Red, Bordering Blue
red brads

Fun in the Sun!!!!

Another challenge....I just love doing the challenges...
It makes me try a different layout, techniques, anything that I would probably never think of doing. This one is for Paper Craft Planet, its the sketch challenge of the week, hosted by Diana.
http://www.dianagibbs.typepad.com/
I just love her blog...I get a giggle everytime I read it. You can hop on over there as soon as you get finished with mine...yes, you have my permission.... Bwahahahaha. Wow, that didn't sound like it held much water did, yeah I know, it doesn't here either. I also said water, ya get it, {giggle} the card, yeah look up, theres a water scene on the card silly... lame, I know!!!
Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this blogging thing...it took a while, but it seems to be getting a little easier, ooopppsss, better not say that too loud or the blog police will add something new that takes me months to figure out......

Easter time....

I know I'm jumping the gun a little, but I like to be prepared.... I made these little treat holders for my grandchildren.... They hold a Andi's candy, don't ya just love those....yummy. I just love that little chickie, isn't it adorable, and fun to color too!!!
Have been busy today, I picked up another table to use in my studio... I'm getting it together, slowly but surely. Maybe i will post pics of the finished studio one day, if i ever get it the way I want it!!!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!!!

Hearts, hearts and more hearts....

...that is the theme for today at SCS limited supplies challenge.

Think I successed ??? I think I did an OK job....
This doesn't reflect my current state of love, (the question mark) ....
while I was making the card I kept hearing the song "Love Hurts" by Nazareth in my head.
Wow, that shows my age a bit...bwahahahaha!!!
I'm trying new things with my picture taking....how do you like it???, hopefully it will just get better and better... It helps that its a nice and sunny day here and I can use the natural lighting, even though its a little bit chilly at the moment (42 degrees), but the sun is a welcome sight...
Until tomorrow... bwhahaha ... that sounds like a tag line from a soap....
Anyway, until tomorrow when the stamped returns.....

My fairy godmother left something behind...

f
Wow two posts in one day...

I made this for the challenge today....had to use stars in some way...I was playing around with my stamp sets when I started wishing I had a fairy godmother to use her magic wand to bang me on the head to help me come up with an idea....This is the result of me getting banged on the head...maybe one time too many....bwahahahahaha

Buggy of love...

I just purchased this oldie set from another demo de-stashing and I love it.

You see I just recently became a demo and missed all these great sets that Stampin' Up! had previously. I just love the sets that are a little out of the norm, I mean, you can always buy stamps with flowers, animals, etc... But Stampin' Up! has some great ones that are just to adorable... so I'm always on the look out for cutesy/whimsical stamp sets.

The deets on this card are:

Kraft card stock
Black card stock
Making Memories DSP (Olivia Baroque)
Priceless and The Wheel thing stamp sets
Brads
white gel pen
Scallop circle punch
Versamark pad
Silver embossing powder
You can't really see it but I versamarked the shopping card and embossed it with silver and then I painstakingly cut out each little square with my exacto knife. Upclose I can see I could have spent a little more time on the cutting, oh well.
The hearts are made using the scallop circle punch....I didn't have a punch to use for the hearts, I know I need to purchase the new bundle, I will, I will.....anyway back to what I was saying.....
I punched a scallop out and found the center and poked a hole in it and then cut from the outside in to create 7 hearts.

Sweet card...

and its a "cutie"....

I received my 5 petal punch yesterday and couldn't wait to use it just to make this adorable lamb.

I just love making cute things from punches. This is not my design for the lamb, I totally case'd (copied and shared with everyone) it from another site (www.dawnsstampingthoughts.com)

Dawn has the cutest designs on there, you oughta check it out.
I said that I was going to make a more feminine card today, but I guess its still kinda manly, with the blue bow in his hair and all...
Can't you just see giving it to a mother to be at a shower for a little boy...too darn cute, even if I say so myself.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. It put a smile on my face today....

TFL & until later

Loads of Love...

Yep, its getting that time again when we really start to think about the ones that we love....
I made this card for my sweetie, I hope he like it... Well, if he doesnt, I will just drive that load of hearts away.... oh yeah right, like I would do that. Heck, I think I've misplaced the keys anyway. bwahahahaha
Boy, I have made quite a few "manly" cards lately, I guess its time to break out and do something a little girly. Maybe tomorrow....but you will just have to check back to see if I do that now won't ya!!! {giggle}
See ya later and TFL

The one that didn't get away....

...card that is....

Wanted to play with my new stamp sets...On the Fly and Bronc Buster. Yes, I know, I'm a little behind but I will catch up evidentually. We had a big day today in our house. We've had an addition of the pitter patter of little feet. 18 pitter patters to be exact...

Give up??? Harlee wanted to spend her christmas money and guess where she wanted to spend it at??? Yeppers...at the pet store. LOL She bought 3 hermit crabs today and all the accessories. Of course, Daddy and I had to pitch in just a little. She's named them, "Sebastian", "Shelly" and she let Daddy name the last one, and he named it "Survivor". Yeah, I thought it was too funny too!!!

Well, I guess I better go check on the new additions to make sure they are happy in their new home.

Thanks for looking!!!

Yeah, I finally got to stamp/play.....

Sorry to all that have missed the card making and had to read about all the work, well maybe not "had" to read.... I guess I should rephrase that....

Well, anyway here are two cards that I finally got to make today...

The first one is for my granddaughter that is turning 5 in a few days and the second one I made for the challenge on splitcoaststampers.
Pics aren't that great...it was late in the day when I got to take the pics.
Hope you all had a very happy start into the New Year.....it can only get better, right!!!!

House de-construction/re-construction...

Here is why I haven't been able to post or make any cards in the last few days....
Super busy trying to get the house in order for the new year....whheewwww made it just in time. But we have already discussed addtional work that we are planning on doing very soon. As the previous post we were very busy painting, tiling, laying linoleum, etc.... Boy am I tired. We are going to take the day off tomorrow or I might go out of my mind. I'm getting the dreaded 'cabin' fever from being in the house way too long.
I see stamping in my future....YIIPPPEEEE!!!!!
