About Me

My photo
I would classify myself as an artist. It took me a while to finally accept that monicker, but that's what I am; AN ARTIST!!! I have a wonderful hubs that supports my "talents" in most all avenues, except maybe when the credit card bill comes in the mail...LOL And I have 4 great kids and 5 beautiful grandchildren that I love to pieces. Come on by and sit a spell and "STAMP 'TIL YA CRAMP!!! & "CROP 'TIL YA DROP!!!"

A star is born........

Here is my daughter in the Annual 7th grade Talent Show
at her middle school.

She was so nervous...I can hear her nerves,
(you may not) but then I hear her singing all the time

Yep, she won first place and she won
Student choice award (all the kids voted for the act they liked the best).

She did so well that the teachers wanted her to come back and perform at the 8th grade talent show.

I wished I had videoed that performance as she did much better then.

I'm going to burn this one on a CD so I can add it to her scrapbook and she can play it when she gets older.....

Until later shower singers......Gotta take a shower split......TFL!!!!!!!

Stop and smell the 'crayons' ?????????????

I have seen similar ones like this all over the web and
thought I would give it a try.

WOW, super easy to create and lots of fun too!!!!

Who doesn't have broken crayons in their home
if they have or had children, right..???
Most of the ones I have seen used new crayons.
I just couldn't bear to do that.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

I can just imagine all the great artwork
getting ready to flow out of the end of a new crayon.

So, I gathered up all the broken crayons out of my daughters crayon box (she's a lot like me and prefers new ones too..) and then I picked all the greens and yellows that would fit vertically onto the canvas.

First, I chalked a very informal sky
then hot glued all of the crayons down
to resemble grass.

Turned the piece upside down and using my heat gun started to melt the crayons.  I didn't want a solid mass of color,
but more of a grassy effect.

Then I punched out some daisy flowers using white cardstock and adhered them to the canvas, after the crayons had cooled off, of course.
Then I glued buttons to the centers of all the flowers.

I'm still debating on whether or not to add a saying to the top or not.

The whole time I was creating this I was thinking of a lady that I met this week on the movie set....she was also working as an extra.
We became fast friends and the best part is she lives locally.

I think I will gift her with this creation as a way of reminding her to take time to stop and smell the crayons flowers.

I'm also entering this into the challenge at Jinger Adams blog.
She's gearing up for a new design team.
I know this is not strictly paper, but it gives her a good example that
I'm not afraid to try anything and
I like to think outside the box(of crayons).
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Edited to add:  Sorry but I forgot to tell you that this is a canvas measuring 11" x 14"

Until later, crayonettes.......Gotta split.....TFL!!!!!

Extra....extra......read all about it......

I am currently an 'extra' in a movie being filmed here in Georgia.

Eeeeeeekkkkkk!!!

I snuck this pic while the film crew was setting up for another scene....
we (the extras) were in the holding area waiting to be called back in.

to learn more about the movie.

It's a very interesting experience....
I think everyone should do it at least once.

At first I was placed right behind one of the female leads
and they did a few run throughs
of the script and testing out the lighting, cameras, sound, etc.....
The director stopped and pointed at me and motioned to one of the makeup artists and said "Move her and tell her why I'm moving her".
She came to my side and said "Come with me"
I wasn't alarmed nor did I think I did anything wrong....as they had moved several people around to get better shots of the courtroom crowd.
She placed me a few rows back.  Then told me "The director said that you are over-shadowing the female lead and you are all they are seeing in the cameras."
I said "Wow, thank you".....she then leaned in and whispered to me .....
"Girl, you are rockin' that hairstyle."

I was grinning ear to ear and that point.... I had to erase it quickly as they were getting ready for another film
test and run through of the script.
This being a very serious courtroom scene and all.

It was a very fun and interesting day to say the least.
I met some amazing people and a lot of 'professional' extras....
this may be my next career choice ...
if not, at least I added another drop into the 'ol bucket list.

After this experience it will make you look at the behind the scenes people a lot more.

Until later, Star gazers.......Gotta act split.......TFL!!!!!

I would love to be one of there members.

They have some of the coolest stamps around.

HERE to visit the blog

I don't have many of VLVS stamps, but
I do have a few.
The tent I stamped on to Kraft paper and then onto DSP.
Cut out a portion of the tent and added to the kraft.
Using colored pencils, OMS (Odorless Mineral Spirits)
and a blending stump I added a little
dimensional shading to the tent.

Sentiments was computer generated.  After printing I cut the cloud out from around the wording on the front.

This is another stamp from VLVS..... isn't she adorable.
Again I used colored pencils, OMS and a stump to bring her to life.
(inside of card)

As an extra bonus.....
Some of you have heard of Action wobbles, right???
If you haven't you need to check them out.
I added one to the back of the tent to adhere it to the card.

It's actually ROCKIN'

Brings a new meaning to "Happy Camper".

Rock on out of here and check out Viva Las VegaStamps!!!!

Its on my bucket list to visit the actual store in Vegas one day.....
Let's hope I make it before kicking said bucket.....

Until later, Happy campers..........Gotta rock split........TFL!!!!!!

Drink???? Anyone????

We made these for our scrapbook group.
SCRAP-N-ISTA's
We have 20 women and each one has their
own initial underneath our group logo.

I used vinyl and cut the white initial using Kate's ABC's
and applied it to the tumbler first.

Then, with black vinyl I created our logo using
Wall Decor & More and my Gypsy.
