These are tags I made from one of my new stamp sets from Stampin' Up!... Cool huh???

I just had to ink them up. Love the sentiment with each one. These work great for small gifties for just about any occasion.

This will be a short post as I have so much to do now, even on vacation I'm writing a book, looking into publishing companies, working on my high school reunion plans, keeping a schedule for the DT stuff, getting Harlee's things ready for school starting soon, etc.....

Wheeewwww! I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.....NAH!!!! I love being busy!!!!

Going to the chapel.....

Whimsy Stamps has a new digi image....

Isn't it lovely? I love the line work and didnt want to color it in, even as bad as my color pencils were hollering to. I used my chalks from Stamp N plus Scrap N to color around the edges of the images and left the center lighter to highlight them kissing.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge for this week is a sketch challenge. I turned it on its side to fit the image better. The wording is a rub-on. I think it turned out pretty good.

Still relaxing at the hotel, Jeff is working and we just hang around until he gets home. Its nice to not have any cleaning to do. They serve a free breakfast buffet and dinner buffet too. No cooking and no clean up......woohoo!!! I was trying to watch my figure so others would watch it too....Bwahahahahahahahaha..... I guess I will have to work on it a lot harder when I get home. LOL Another reason is I've been sorta nominated to help head our 30th high school reunion. I have to look my absolute best. I will have lots to do when I get home. Its gonna be a lot of work but it will be a blast (from the past).

Harlee and I are in sunny Pleasant Hill, Cali....across the bay from San Francisco and having a blast and we just got here.

Looks like the baby that wore this bib had a fight with the green peas and the peas WON!!! I love to turn a phrase..... LOL This is an image from MyGrafico....isnt it adrorable!!!! There are other images that some with this set that are just as cute. Don't ya love the DSP I used for the background....it reminded me of green peas too....Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!! Get out of your high chair and crawl over to check them out....

Modern Sugar Blvd. 's challenge is any shaped card you would like to make. Mojo!!!! This one seemed to fall out the ends of my fingers. Yippee!!!! I love how this turned out. That image reminds me of my sister, I know she dressed like this growing up.

I have been going through a lot of old pics lately, and loving every minute of it. A lot to use for the book and some just because. I will be a scrapbooking fool this winter.

Who or what stole my MOJO???

I'm still finding it very hard to get my mojo going again....not really sure why. But I know its still here, I just have to rev up the 'ol engines somehow. But in the mean time; Harlee has made a couple of cards for you guys to see.

She made a scene with the Halloween card. Jack 'o Lantern is sitting on a table in front of a window.....too cute!!!!

Hopefully my mojo will return after I return from vacation. I will still be adding my challenge cards and post everyday while away. Taking my laptop and working by the pool while Jeff is at work during the day while Harlee swims. I'm over getting in the water now, I may just splash a little on me to cool off......Bwahahahahahahahahaha.

This image looks like me when I travel.... LOL . Which Harlee and I will be doing sunday.... headed to California for a vacation. Only I have blonde hair instead of red. I tend to want to color everyone blonde; so, I'm trying to sway from my norm. Super cute image that can be used for any occasion as well. Day late and a fold short....

well, maybe not a fold short. This was supposed to be posted yesterday....better late than never, I guess!!! Its a fun fold challenge by Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog. Use any image you want but you need to have some sort of fancy schmancy fold to the card. Mines pretty simple. Kinda off center, a lot like me; don't ya think.???

'Hop' on over and give a look-see to all the samples that the DT has created. They have blown it out of the 'water'.......Bwahahahahahahahaha !!! {I'm back....missed me ?!!!}

I told you that I was writing a book about my mama. She was an incredible woman in many ways. She took us thru many adventures along the way. She died of lung cancer in 1984, I was only 23. But in those 23 yrs. I gained a lot of experience from the 'ol gal. Anyhoo, here is a taste of whats to come. Keep in mind that this is a true event.....honest!!!!

****They're in the attic and they hear the scratching. Micky and Mama start listening to the walls to see if they can find the culprit. Micky said "I found it!" He pulls on the wall board and it's a full frontal assault of bats. After Micky screamed like a girl about 3 times, he hollers to Mama "Let's go, there's too many!" I guess the gun gets a little heavy 'cause she starts inloading into the air. Micky takes off down the stairs and leaves her there and shes still shootin'. He listens at the bottom of the stairs and Mama hollers down; "Boy, bring me another box of bullets!" He grabs 'em and throws them up the stairs. Bullets scatter everywhere; Mama's cussing him, cussing the bats, cussing him, cussing the bats. Until finally she gives up. She did have to get the roof replaced. After pulling back some of the roofing the roofer asks Mama "Why are there so many bullet holes in the roof? She said like it was an everyday event, "I was killin' bats."

But their were no bats harmed in the making of this story, 'cause she NEVER hit a one!!!!***

What do ya think??? This is a small excerpt from the whole bat story. Micky is my baby brother. Pam and I are going to write a book of many short stories of things that we all experienced at the hands of our Mama and survived. Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Challenges galore!!!!

This first one is from Squigglefly... Its a baby card, any gender with purple. Isnt this a cutie of an image. She is having so much fun all by herself.

Digi Shack is next...clouds is the theme for this one. Cloud of any shape or size is required, how easy is that. This fairy godmother seemed to land on the wrong cloud.

Last, but surely not least is MyGrafico. Teal and brown and we used images from the new garden theme set. I cut out each layer to make the flower more dimensional. Added some glitter on the stem.

Getting slowly back into the swing of things, so bear with me. Finding it hard to get motivated and organized for some reason.

My sister and I are going to write a book about the adventures of our mama. Our mama was a very incredible woman. She could take an engine apart and put it all back together again, all the while wearing her big diamond ring. She always had guns loaded and ready to shoot at a moments notice. You never, ever told her that she couldnt do something. She would break her neck to prove you wrong. Hmmmm........ sound familiar Jeff..... Bwahahahahahahahahaha. It will be a book of short stories and as soon as I get it started I will add an excerpt from one of the stories for you guys to critique. I will do all the writing, my sister is going thru old pictures to add. We hope to get it published!!!! Got lots to do, Harlee and I will be leaving sunday to goto California to spend a week with Jeff. I need to get all my cards finished and pre-posted before we leave.

Rockstar sighting!!!!

This is a scrapbook page of a dear friend. His name is Keith Christopher. He is the brother of my sister's hubby that passed away. I went on a mad search to find him via the internet. He travels all over the world performing.

Here's how it began: I was going to my sisters quite regular, helping out all that I could while Tommy(sister hubby) was under hospice care. The nurses were telling her that he didnt have long and to get everyone here that they thought might need to see him. All his siblings were contacted, but no one knew where Keith was. I found him thru Myspace....gotta love the internet!!!! I emailed him and thru sheer luck he was performing in Chattanooga, Tenn. for one night and he drove down on saturday to see his brother.... Keith had to fly back to NY (where he lives) on sunday. Tommy passed away on the following monday. I called Keith to let him know... he was very greatful for me finding him so he could see Tommy before he passed away. He called me back on Tuesday wanting to know all the arrangements, I told him....he was silent for a minute and then said he wanted to be a pall bearer. I told him to get his 'ass' back home and I promised that would happen. He had to switch around a lot of things to be able to come home. He was to fly back to Europe the day of the funeral. But he flew back home on Wed. and was able to make it to the funeral on thursday. Then afterwards we all returned to Pam's house to talk and eat and Keith being the consumate entertainer played a borrowed guitar and sang for us... He dedicated a song to Pam..."Last Date" We all sang and laughed and celebrated Tommy's life together.

Pam said it was what Tommy would have wanted.

A little background on Keith..... I have known him my whole life and he was my first crush when I was a little girl...silly huh???? I'm still crushing on him...Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

He was one of the original members of 'Georgia Satellites', he has played with many other bands, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Billy Joe Shaver, etc.... He is an established song writer....he wrote a song that Ray Charles recorded called "Over the Top". He is currently with a band called 'Dan Baird and Homemade Sin'. They travel more over in the UK than here...hopefully they will return to the states soon.

Seems like a lifetime!!!

I will be back tomorrow and ready to get back in the swing of things....
Boy, have I missed you all so much!!! Working on stuff today.... Thanks to all of you for the sweet words. My sister is doing quite well under the circumstances.

First challenge is from MyGrafico.... Its a fruity delight...check it out to see what I mean.

This next one is from Whimsy Stamps Challenge blog. Christmas in July!!!! BRRRRR!!! This giraffe needs a lot of scarf to his neck warm. I hand drew the scarf on lt. blue paper using my white gel pen. Sled on over to the blog to see what all the rest of the team has done.

This will be the last cards posted for at least the next few days. I have told you before that my sisters husband is under hospice care and I have been spending every waking moment there. The nurse now thinks he only has 24 to 48 hrs. left and I promised my sister I would be there everyday until she doesn't need me anymore. So, I probably won't be posting anything for the next few days. My heart really isnt in it anyway. I'm anxious when I'm not there and can't concentrate on anything really. But, I'll be back with a vengence and I will need the laughter when I return. Love all you guys and I know you all will understand !!!!

Update: My brother-in-law passed away this morning....I will be very busy for the next few days......Thanks in advance for everyone's concern!!!

Karate Kid and Psycho......

No, they're not movie titles.... they're the title of my cards.......

I made this card for "Rayne", a great niece that was turning one yesterday. I got this stamp off the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby and I thought that this is what she will look like when she gets older. She's a little spit-fire already. On the inside I wrote, I hope you get a kick out of your birthday.

Now, this one is a little on the twisted side....Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!! This image is from The Digi Shack. First time I saw this image I thought of the movie Psycho. I'm a horror movie buff, and Alfred Hitchcock is one of favs. I drew in the blond hair and the eyes to look like Janet Leigh from the movie. I also drew a shower curtain on velum and cut away the hand and inserted the curtain behind the hand to make it look like she was holding it. I love, love , love that drippy goo punch from MS.

TAG ur it with skulls added for a little extra umph!!!!!

Today's challenge is from Modern Sugar Blvd and its to use a tag somewhere on the card. All of the DT had to come up with the challenge themes and this one was submitted by my great friend Joni. How about this??? My whole card is a tag......LOL

I love the background paper... it reminds me of an apron. I believe it is designed after a fabric that is called pillow ticking. Funny how certain papers' designs remind you of certain things.

Take a stroll on the blvd. to see how the other DT members chose to use a tag. While you're there, do a little window shopping grab you some of the new images that are available now.

A few of you were asking about colors/design that I painted Harlee's room....here are a few pics.

Every girl has to have a pink room, I guess. She picked the color herself and she wanted the accessories to be black and white....easy enough. We took her bed apart and spray painted her bed and several other things that she had in there. But then it came to deciding what designs she wanted on the wall. She likes stars, moons and hearts. But she also wanted me to incorporate a skull mural into the theme....Kids!!! I just looked at her and shook my head and said , in my best mommy voice; "I don't think so!"....Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!! Hmmmm.....so I stamped some white stars on the wall and the shelf behind her bed has hearts already on it. I remember that I had this old skull stamp that had a heart for the nose, perfect. *(No skulls were harmed in the creation of this room)* I stamped it randomly with the stars and I found those wooden star shaped boxes and stamped the skull on them and while it was wet I used black glitter. There are stars and skulls throughout the entire room on all the walls. It turned out better than I thought it would.

She went to VBS after I painted the room pink, but she didn't see the completed room until she got back home that night. She walked in and screamed and came running back out and gave me the biggest hug and said "Thank you, Mommy" Awwwwww......this from the kid that wanted a huge skull mural previously....Bwahahahahahahahahahaha.... Gotta love 'em!!!!!

Now I want to redo our bedroom.....no skulls though......LOL

This card was made for the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog... and you guessed it, its a sketch challenge!!! Pretty simple to follow this sketch, it only took me a few minutes to crank this card out. The stamps are from Stampin' Up!; aren't they the cutest. Stroll on over and take a stab at it.

I had to find something simple to make for todays blog.... You see, I post the night before and set it on auto to upload at 6 in the morning. So, I'm tired as can be at the moment that I'm typing this. It's about midnight and I have painted Harlee's room (2 coats) and room decor to match. Washed all the bed linen to put away; 'cause we bought new linens to match the new color. Made cupcakes for my grandson's 3rd birthday today. Took Harlee to vacation bible school and went back to pick her up. All of this was going on while I was talking to several family members on the cell phone. Cooking supper, and no we didn't have beans...LOL Boy am I tired and I still need to get shower!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if 'whine' goes well with beans....bwahahahahahahaha. Red or white? I guess it would depend on the color of the beans. LOL

Yes, you have seen these before.....but today is the official day of the release of these great image.... from Modern Sugar Blvd. The yogo girl is a separate image from the waffle and syrup. But when and if I exercise this is what I'm really thinking about....when my next meal is...bwahahahahahahaha!!!! Speaking of meals...I'm not sure I would really want to eat a red velvet elvis. But he's too fun to look at.....
